This role is crucial in supporting our commitment to providing inclusive education for all students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with the
SENCO, Inclusion Lead, SEND Lead TAs, and other staff to implement and monitor SEND support strategies, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive.
This is a full-time position, working 32.5 hours per week (term-time only, 39 weeks). The job description outlined for a Scale 3 SEND Teaching Assistant is attached (pro rata salary for this post is £22,107, pay award pending)Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with SEND, both at SEND Support level and those with EHCPs.
- Assist in delivering specialised interventions and therapies, including Attention Autism, PECS, Intensive Interaction, and Sensory Diets.
- Support teachers in planning and adapting learning activities to meet the needs of SEND pupils across the school.
- Help prepare materials and resources for lessons, ensuring they are accessible and appropriate for SEND pupils.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and interventions, contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of SEND support.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on SEND best practices and interventions.
- Facilitate the inclusion of SEND pupils in mainstream activities and support their social and emotional development.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils, with particular attention to SEND requirements.
- Liaise with parents and carers to ensure consistent support for SEND pupils both at home and in school
Eligibility
- Previous experience working with children with SEND is essential.
- Experience with Attention Autism, PECS, Intensive Interaction, and Sensory Diets is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
