Our client, an award-winning lifestyle retailer renowned for delivering an exceptional in-store and online experience, is seeking a Retail Horticultural Manager to join their team in Carlow. Specialising in home, garden, and outdoor living products, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Plant or Horticulture Manager with a passion for gardening and plants to expand their knowledge and provide top-tier service to customers.You will lead and develop a high-performing team of horticulturists while driving sales and maintaining a dynamic, visually appealing retail space that inspires and engages customers.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and support a team of 11 employees, ensuring exceptional customer service and expert plant care advice.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of team members, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standards.
- Manage the DIY Department within the Garden Centre.
- Handle all aspects of stock management, including ordering, goods receipt, merchandising, and stock control, to maintain a visually appealing and well-stocked retail space.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, and seasonal product planning to maximise revenue.
- Monitor and manage budgets, sales targets, and performance metrics to drive business growth.
- Ensure all relevant POS, plant labelling, and displays are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain the health and quality of plants through proper care, handling, and maintenance.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Retail management or supervisory experience, ideally in a garden centre or horticultural setting.
- A Horticultural qualification with strong expertise in gardening and plant care.
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring teams, fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
- A strong customer-focused approach, with a genuine passion for helping and advising customers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring smooth interactions with both customers and team members.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
