Contract Role: Senior Telecom Engineer

Overview:

A contract opportunity for a Senior Telecom Engineer to support a major onshore oil and gas project in the Middle East. The role involves managing telecom systems infrastructure, providing technical expertise, and supporting project delivery in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and control telecom system hardware/software across LAN/WAN platforms.
• Configure tools for provisioning, testing, and deployment of telecom infrastructure.
• Plan and implement system installations and maintenance, including virtual environments.
• Produce system designs and specifications, considering performance, security, and cost.
• Manage the full lifecycle of telecom systems including upgrades and migrations.
• Lead small-scale projects and sub-projects, managing risks and issues.
• Diagnose and resolve telecom-related incidents.

Skills

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of IT experience in the oil and gas sector, with 4 years in project roles.
• Strong project management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering software tools and telecom standards.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Contract Details:

• Start Date: Q3/Q4 2025
• Duration: 24 months
• Location: Onshore sites in Doha & Ras Laffan
• Schedule: 5 working days per week
