Job Purpose:To develop and improve the hygiene standards and systems within the site. To deliver strong and consistent leadership to the hygiene function and to ensure that the Company complies with all relevant legislation.Added Value for role:Ensure hygiene standards and targets of cleanliness are achieved and continuously improved. To support the production process through the continuous monitoring of hygiene standards of the plant, machinery, and grounds. Site developed and implemented SOP’s to be adhered to. Be able to identify opportunities to improve the function and reduce costs whilst ensuring full conformity.Role Key Accountabilities Added ValueTraining/Development – To build a multi-skilled hygiene team trained against all site procedures, SOP’s, food safety and health and safety proceduresCoaching/mentoring – to conduct hygiene operative and team leader reviewsTo develop the hygiene team and team leader to deliver consistent high standards of hygiene each shiftCulture – To develop a hygiene team that drives continuous improvement whilst following all food safety and HSE procedures each shiftEffective work scheduling of team to ensure full task completion each shiftRecruitment – responsible for maintaining staffing levelsTo ensure that appropriate equipment is available and maintained to all the hygiene team to operate within safe working practicesHygiene SOP’s and Periodic schedules – ensuring the system reflects current working practicesHygiene verification – ensure standards are verified, chemical concentrations always checked to be able to demonstrate due diligenceContinuous improvements projects – actively involved and promote new ideasLiaise with chemical provider, chemical stock management and chemical ordering to deliver within a set budgetTo work to agreed KPI’s for hygiene standardsTo hold daily handovers with the production/engineering function to communicate hygiene issuesTo effectively communicate daily hygiene issues to the management teamTo effectively communicate departmental issues to your hygiene team and team leaderRequirementsKnowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Willingness to work night shift (essential)
  • Working hours are Mon to Fri 9.30pm – 6am
  • Previous management experience essential and must have strong team building skills
  • Willingness to work night shift
  • Experience of Hygiene Management in the food industry
  • Proven leadership qualities and effective methods of communication
  • Awareness of employment law
  • Chemical application, storage and safety control
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • COSHH

  • Direct Reports: Site Hygiene Team Leaders
  • Budget and Finances: Budgetary control in relation to contractors, chemicals, labor, tools and PPE
  • Key Working Relationships: Site Management Team, Technical, Maintenance, Operations, Contractors and Chemical Providers
  • Core Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Cleaning schedule adherence including periodic scheduling
  • Training and Safety metrics
  • Hygiene associated downtime
  • Environmental cleaning assessments
  • Hygiene visual cleaning assessments
