Which brings us onto the role…Your roleWe are looking for a Hygiene Manager who will lead the implementation of all the necessary guidelines. You will be responsible for Leading and Managing the Hygiene teams, ensuring product safety, and be compliance with current legislation, microbiological, internal, and external customer Hygiene standards. You will be responsible for ensuring the prevention of accidents from Hygiene function related causes and accountable for the Hygiene Department budgets and all Hygiene related KPI’s across all shiftsRequirementsHygiene
- Maintain the hygiene standards in all areas of the factory.
- Planning and implementing deep cleaning and overhead cleaning schedules, working closely with the Engineering and Production requirements.
- Manage the Hygiene Team ensuring correct levels of staffing and training.
- Investigate and take the necessary corrective actions of any out of specification environmental micro results.
- Ensuring achievement of KPI targets.
- Maintain cleaning standards, records, and procedures in a state compliant to BRC and other relevant audit standards.
Audit & documentation
- To conduct compliance audits/ inspections of internal hygiene standards and documentation.
- Write work instruction and hygiene procedures.
Health & Safety
- Control COSHH management and associated training across all functions.
- Ensure all hygiene staff are trained and competent in all procedures relevant to their role
- To ensure material safety data sheets for all chemicals used on site are maintained, updated regularly and are accessible to all staff

Key Competencies
- You must have previous experience within a high care food manufacturing environment
- HACCP Level 3
- COSHH Level 3 required
- Ideally Food Safety Level 3 qualified
- NEBOSH Health & Safety Certificate ( desirable )
- NEBOSH Environmental (desirable )
- Hygiene Manager’s Level 4
- Listeria, Micro, and chemical control awareness knowledge
- An understanding of BRCGS or large retailer audits is preferred
