Contract Production Officer

Role Overview

PIC – Philippines, a Genus company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Contract Production Officer to oversee a gilt multiplication unit, working closely with farm personnel to meet farm efficiency targets. This position is located in one of our Multiplication Partner Farm with 26 consecutive days onsite and 4 days offsite work schedule. Reporting to the Supply Chain Teamleader, the Contract Production Officer has primary accountability for ensuring quality products are pulled out of the multiplication farms to serve PIC customers’ requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete weekly rounds in the farm to check practices, people and animal behavior and conditions;
• Analyze monthly production data for trends and variances; report findings and secure Supply Chain Management’s support for recommended resolutions
• Conduct consultative and alignment meetings with partner farm management to discuss audit findings and data trends and agree on actions for implementation; Support farm management in monitoring action implementation
• Conduct final evaluation of animals prior to loading to ensure compliance to PIC Standards
• Supervise farm attendants in loading animals from pen to truck to ensure right animals are loaded safely; Complete all necessary information and documentation in the breeder pack
• Transfer PIC technology and protocol updates to farm employees through constant training and competency evaluation
• Work with partner farm management to implement PIC Health Assurance program in the farm
• Submit regular reports to Supply Chain Management (e.g. farm marketing reports, nursery and breeders monitoring reports, forecast, monthly production reports)
• Conduct farm consumables and tag inventory and initiate the order process to secures these supplies
• Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision;
• Follow health and safety and biosecurity protocols of the company and partner farm at all times
• Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required):

• Graduate of Agriculture course with specialization in animal science, animal husbandry, Veterinary Medicine
• Geographically flexible
• Willing to work on site for 26 consecutive days followed by four consecutive day off
• Willing to perform work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
• High initiative and problem solving skills
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Adept at MS Office applications such as word, excel, powerpoint
• Authorized to work in the Philippines without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Has two or more years of swine production experience
• With experience in computerized swine production systems such as PIGCOM
