Our Telecom Engineer will lead and perform work that is highly complex and varied in nature relating to network/telecom operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations. This individual will develop integrated solutions to resolve highly complex technical and business issues and be a recognized expert internally and externally, often providing strategic direction, guidance and integration of products and services.
A Day in the Life
- Works with Leadership, Networking staff, and field personnel to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provides technical engineering oversight and support of network/telecommunications environment. Manage direction, schedules, and budgets of engineering projects.
- Coordinates telecom related work assignments and schedules for the purpose of minimizing disruption of services and/or inconvenience.
- Maintains relationships with customers, vendors and internal teams; provides reports, complete requests for new services, and determines methodology for providing new telecom service.
- Repairs/maintains/diagnosis telecommunication systems and equipment, and a variety of other electronic equipment and systems (e.g., Telecommunications systems Cisco CM, public address systems, patches and upgrades etc.).
- Monitors assigned servers, systems and applications for the purpose of ensuring continuity of service.
You’ll Come With
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience managing large corporate phone system and adjuncts (e.g., call account, paging, conference bridge, etc.)
- Ability to lead projects, provide guidance and mentor junior team members
- Experience with Cisco VoIP
- Understanding of station and house cabling w/low voltage wiring
- Knowledge of Carrier Services
- Experience with Microsoft Teams telephony features
- Expected to be available for rotational on-call
- Limited travel: Should have the ability to travel to various facilities if needed
