Job Description:Kepak McIntosh Donald are a globally recognised brand and the largest red meat producer in Scotland; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.We are looking for Technical Services Assistant, to join our team at Kepak McIntosh Donald in Portlethen.In this role you will be responsible for the management of Site Quality Assurance systems and ensuring that they meet customer, business, legislative and relevant accreditation body standards.As Technical Services Assistant you will also be responsible for the following:

  • H.A.C.C.P / T.A.C.C.P / V.A.C.C.P Systems: to facilitate and advise the site teams in development, implementation, control, monitoring, verification, validation and review of the site’s H.A.C.C.P food safety system, T.A.C.C.P & V.A.C.C.P food defence systems.
  • Ensuring all technically controlled & due diligence documentation for the site is created, maintained and distributed in line with site practices and protocols.
  • Co-ordination and maintenance of the site’s internal auditing system, and monitoring compliance in accordance with the system.
  • Undertaking internal audits, monitoring and verifying the internal auditing process to ensure compliance to the relative requirements by customer and industry standards.
  • Facilitation and support of customer / 3rd party audits and visits.
  • Receiving, tracking and completion of customer complaints/non-conformances, distributing to relevant teams/departments to support investigation and co-ordinating responses.

Requirements:

  • Degree in relevant subject such as Food Science desirable
  • Competent in the use of Word and Excel & Microsoft Office suite products
  • Knowledge of BRCGS and relevant customer standards in order to join the site’s H.A.C.C.P team.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential, with a strong focus on food safety and quality within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume meat processing factory highly beneficial
  • A good working knowledge of customer codes of practice advantageous
  • Ability to communicate well in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levels
  • Professional approach, strong influencing skills
