Leidos is seeking a Business Analyst with practical knowledge and experience for the analysis and evaluation of user business problems and the development of business requirements. The Business Analyst will analyze current and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems. Duties include coordinating with business and technology teams to ascertain system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, execution of user acceptance, and may coordinate testing and the imposition of system controls. The Business Analyst will also support the user community in the application of functional business tools and support systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create requirements and specifications for business needs.

  • Collaborate with team members to collect, analyze, and evaluate information from multiple sources.

  • Write and document business requirements, functional requirements, and design specifications.

  • Present findings and recommendations to Information Technology developers.

  • In collaboration with developers, create test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate business requirements and test and/or coordinate testing of new installations or upgrades.

  • Research system/user problems using various analytical and research techniques within a tax policy context.

  • Work to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on the area/ project team. Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments.

  • May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.

  • Address somewhat complex technical issues/problems using internal best practices and collaboration with colleagues.

  • Develop solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge, but are typically limited in complexity.

  • Communicate with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.).

  • Explain technical solutions, practices, and procedures to others within the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform the responsibilities listed above.

  • BS degree or equivalent experience and 2+ years experience as a Business Analyst in an information technology environment.

  • Knowledge and experience in developing requirements based on business needs and for a technical solution.

  • Ability to translate and explain business requirements to information technology stakeholders.

  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working on projects in the Federal government.

  • Experience working in IRS or Treasury.

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and scrum teams.

  • Current MBI, a plus.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Candidates must be able to pass an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) security background check prior to start date.

  • Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant if not, candidate will not be considered.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $55,250.00 – $99,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
