Role Description
As a Staff Network Verification Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our network by conducting rigorous testing and verification processes. You will be deeply involved in developing, automating, and implementing test strategies to validate network functionality, performance, and scalability. As a team, we consistently push our network to be the fastest so you’ll have the opportunity to stay at the forefront of the industry.
In this role, you’ll:
- Design and implement comprehensive test plans to verify the functionality, performance, and scalability of network infrastructure and services.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
- Collaborate with network architects, engineers, and operations teams to identify test requirements and develop testing methodologies.
- Analyze test results, identify issues, and work with the Engineering teams to resolve defects and performance bottlenecks.
- Provide detailed test reports and documentation to stakeholders, highlighting findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Engage with relevant vendors, partners, and standardization bodies to ensure our testing practices align with industry advancements and that our network verification and testing is staying current with industry standards and practices.
At a minimum we’d like you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in network testing and verification, with a focus on end-to-end network performance and reliability.
- 5 years of experience with network protocols and technologies, including IP, SDN, NFV, L2/L3 LAN/WAN protocols, BGP, MPLS, QoS, Netflow, SNMP, and network virtualization.
- 5 years of experience with network testing tools and methodologies, including Wireshark, TCPdump , and Ixia IxNetwork/IxLoad or similar network traffic and protocol generation tools.
- 3 years of experience developing and executing automated test scripts using tools such as Ansible, Python, or other scripting languages.
It’s preferred if you have:
- MS or PhD in EE/CS with a strong background in service-provider networking design.
- Experience operating with telecom / internet service provider networks.
- Industry certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience with network automation and programmability using tools such as Ansible, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Experience with cloud-native network infrastructure, including SDN, NFV, and Kubernetes and network virtualization technologies on private and public clouds.
- Experience with broadband access network equipment, especially Fiber to the Home (FTTH) systems.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000 – $235,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
