Do you enjoy moving beyond identifying problems to identifying solutions? Are you an expert in payment eligibility and payment limitations through the USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA)? The Farm Program Services (FPS) team at Pinion is seeking an Advisor to work primarily on FSA related projects.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide farmer and rancher clients with expert-level technical knowledge and consultation in regard to USDA programs, with specialization in payment limitation regulation
  • Identify compliance issues and design solutions that positively impact the client’s bottom line
  • Provide initial analysis of each assigned project, scoping the project with external and internal partners and ensuring its efficient, profitable, and timely completion
  • Build and maintain effective and trusting client relationships, looking for opportunities to expand services and increase efficiency
  • Act as a representative in administrative appeals with the USDA
  • Monitor FSA updates and communications and ensure internal and external stakeholders are kept informed of changes

What you will need to be successful:

  • Proven expertise in USDA/FSA programs, ideally in an advisory capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences, agribusiness, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Deep experience with payment limitation programs
  • Well-versed in FSA regulations, policies, and programs
  • Strong understanding of agricultural operations and practices
  • Ability to interact with clients with both a compliance and consulting mindset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing
  • Technologically savvy with proficiency in MS Office and project management tools

Pinion offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401k/profit-sharing, holidays, flexible work arrangements, and paid leave.

Compensation: In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000 to $120,000.

Remote Eligibility: This position is US – Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at a Pinion office or attendance at offsites, as requested/required by the firm and/or your supervisor.
