This role, reporting to the Service Delivery Lead Global Trade Operations , who is in turn part of the Trade Execution leadership team will be responsible for supporting Global Laytime activities under Bunge Freight division as well as Trade Execution of Dry Agricultural products under commodity value chains for different Business/Trading Units. The successful candidate will work upstream with the Origin Execution Teams AR to understand and derive solutions to sustainable and efficient execution, defining profitable Post fixture liquidation module , support SLA’s for key deliverables, support and report on product classification , act as a liaison with Traders, Accounting , Global freight, Auditors, and key stakeholders.

Main Accountabilities

  • Responsible for heading a 100+ strong SCM team supporting Multiple Global Agri Trading Business operations covering full contract execution cycle together with trade finance documentation & claims settlements.
  • Accountable for service delivery and compliance at GBS (includes SLA, KPIs and CPIs) & establish key performance metrics to improve business outcomes
  • Drive integration of trade operations activities from JVs to BBS structure
  • Identify roles / operating model / integration opportunities to transition JVs GTE work to BBS centers.
  • Define To Be operating Model for Viterra GTE processes at BBS and align the same with current BBS GTE operating model.
  • Lead all transition efforts for GTE process consolidation to BBS
  • Works closely with senior business stakeholders to deliver on ‘common goals’: cost, turnaround time and quality
  • Contributes to the creation and implementation of SCM & Logistics vision (based on Industry best practices)
  • Deliver solutions to operational problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service
  • Drives continuous improvement and transformation initiatives constantly identifying inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities using the right mix of people, processes, tools, and technologies
  • Leverage tools and technologies to improve agility and effectiveness of operations and service delivery
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high performing and motivated team(s), building the culture of continuous improvement that meets agreed objectives
  • Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review/assess ongoing performance of direct reports
  • Invests and contributes in nurturing the supply chain and logistics capabilities within GBS through L&D initiatives
  • Articulate GBS capabilities and transformational abilities at all opportune moments to the larger organization which improves adoption of GBS by different businesses and countries
  • Effectively collaborates and maintains excellent relationships with other work streams and functions

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Reduce the Cash Cycle for trade flows under different value chains .
  • Target minimum 90 % accuracy in Documents Preparation, and Presentation
  • Maintain Documents presentation time line within 10 working days overall average .
  • Deliver efficiency of around 10 % in the process flow by continuous improvement and eliminating unproductive methodology .
  • Timeline of completion of Laytime calculation (From receipt of documents to delivery of calculations)
  • Control of time bar cases applicable in the charter parties and/or contracts . Ensure zero revenue leakage due to time barred cases.

  • Document control (Liaise with agents or vessel operators involved to manage the inflow of required documents ). Getting the documents within 5 WD from concerned parties.

Key Relationships, Stakeholders & Interfaces

This is a role that interacts with trading, freight, execution, controlling, accounting, finance desks across the regions Bunge serves.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies

  • Good knowledge of concepts and procedures related to shipment of trade commodities and related terms & guidelines, including expertise in Letters of credit and shipping documents
  • Good understanding of contracts, charter parties and key laytime/demurrage provisions and the terminology associated with the petroleum industry and commercial commodities.(Preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of marine and terminal operations. (Preferred)
  • Ability to provide high quality level of customer service to internal & external stakeholders involved in contract execution & settlement
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and deliver high quality output under time pressure
  • Independent and meticulous with figures
  • Strong written & oral communications skills in English. Knowledge of European languages added advantage.
  • Strong problem solving & organization skills
  • Experience in managing people and processes through a sustained period of change
  • Excellent computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in working with SAP system

Education/Experience

  • Postgraduation (preferably MBA’s) in International Business or Supply Chain with a minimum of 15 years of proven experience, with at least 7-8 years of experience as a Sr. Manager / Head supply chain & logistics business in a GIC/GBS environment or in similar level/roles in leading Global Agri-Trading/FMCG organization
  • Domain expertise in managing Int’l logistics operations and EXIM documentation
  • Exposure in dealing with banks / liners / freight forwarders / shipbroker / charterers / Inspection companies
  • Mandatory experience in Agri commodities & related contract terms such as (GAFTA/ANEC/FOSFA/NAEGA/ICA etc.)
  • Exposed to manage complete origin & destination cycle for both Bulk & Container operations.
  • Knowledge about applicability of Incoterms, UCP, ISBP & L/c terms and conditions
  • Understanding of regulatory & compliance requirements for different origination & destination countries
  • Prior experience of working in different countries & geographies would be an added advantage
  • Should have played strategic roles and managed large teams engaging into global Agri commodity execution process
  • Commercial and financial acumen with a fair understanding of impact of failure in terms of business cost and customer satisfaction
