A leading medical device company dedicated to creating life-saving and transformative solutions is looking for a dynamic leader to oversee a talented team of Quality Engineering professionals. This role is pivotal in enhancing product quality and ensuring compliance while collaborating with Production and Manufacturing Engineering teams to meet customer delivery and cost targets.You will also play a crucial role in integrating quality into new processes and products. This position demands a strategic focus to align quality with the evolving manufacturing landscape and the organisation’s long-term vision. You will be responsible for crafting and upholding quality procedures that guarantee high levels of customer satisfaction and adherence to global standards and regulations.A strong commitment to leadership is essential, as you will guide your team in their growth, performance, and problem-solving capabilities.A bit more about the role:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Quality professionals to achieve departmental metrics and broader organisational goals.
  • Provide training and support to team members, helping them reach their career aspirations while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Regularly report on key metrics and devise action plans to address any shortfalls.
  • Ensure the accuracy of reports that support Business Metrics and Quality Management Reviews (QMR).
  • Perform trend analyses to spot issues and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across functions and sites within the quality team.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and reducing complaints.
  • Promote open communication and collaboration among diverse stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Advocate for a preventive culture by championing Quality initiatives
  • Assist in the formulation of strategic plans and goals that align with overall business objectives.
  • Lead quality management efforts for strategic projects

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (L8 degree) or higher in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Over 8+ years quality operations experience in the medical device sector or another regulated industry.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience with at least 2 years direct people management experience. This role has 7 direct reports and a number of indirect so a strong people lead is essential.
  • Proficiency in leading complex planning sessions, brainstorming, Kaizen, and similar initiatives focused on process and product improvement.
  • A collaborative team player with a strong work ethic and a positive mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • A solid technical background and product understanding
