/ Position: Regional Engineering Manager (Scotland)
/ Location: Engineering operational sites across Scotland
/ Working Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
/ Pay: Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits!Gama Aviation are currently recruiting for a Regional Engineering Manager to oversee our sites in Scotland. You will be responsible for the operational delivery and effective managerial oversite of the engineering activity for applicable sites across the allocated region, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory process and procedures spanning a diverse approval basis to provide the required maintenance activity on target and within budget. This activity will span fixed wing and rotary aircraft types in support of special missions and business aviation customers.

  • Ensure through leadership and collaboration with the wider business structure effective planning of the regional sites activity and ensure resourcing is adequate in scale and scope to meet the planned and emergent needs, ensure this is shared and discussed as required with the Base Maintenance Manager/Form 4 holder and other stakeholders.
  • Provide effective management of engineering staff ensuring work is performed to the highest standard, monitor and report on ongoing capability and performance as well as identify training needs.
  • Plan the manpower, training, GSE & tooling budgets, with Sr leadership, for the facilities under his/her control.
  • Ensure that the applicable locations approval basis needs are met and maintained.
  • Forecast and ensure any scope growth is identified and planned with the manager of compliance in advance of potential growth.
  • Support Sr management in expansion and growth of capabilities and facilities.
  • Assist and respond to auditing and subsequent compliance findings as may be applicable.
  • Ensure management structure is kept advised of any critical personnel, customer or aircraft concerns, in a timely manner.
  • Ensure activity is performed as defined within the sites scope and authorisation.
  • Report on activity and performance into the service line management structure, understanding operational metrics and identifying improvement paths.
  • Proactively promote a just & safe culture, while using the available tools to capture issues, occurrences and incidents.
  • Comply with all procedures detailed within the GAEL Maintenance Organisation Exposition.
  • Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures and COSHH requirements.
  • Comply with all procedures listed in the current Staff Company Handbook.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the position.

/ Job Specific skills:

  • Established and proven leadership skills, you will be able to motivate and direct a diverse resource pool to work towards common goals and targets.
  • Strong technical understanding and experience for specific aircraft type as dictated by site or contractual involvement.
  • Working knowledge of the aviation regulatory framework, application and interaction against and with the regulation ensuring adherence and compliance.
  • Command of English language, and good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good knowledge of aircraft maintenance and operations standards and practices.
  • Good understanding of the concepts and requirements of SMS, Quality Assurance and Audits.
  • Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear directions and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
  • Flexible and able to travel at short notice

/ Qualifications and experience:

  • ICAO Type II Engineer License with at least two aircraft type ratings applicable to the GAMA fleet.
  • 5 years’ experience as Line/Base certifying engineer with experience in AOG support functions.
  • 2 years in supervisory role running a base or line maintenance support team
