Network Security Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Manager to lead our specialized network security team. This role is integral to our cybersecurity strategy, focusing exclusively on securing our network infrastructure, including on-premises systems and cloud environments (AWS and Azure). The ideal candidate will have an advanced understanding of Next-Generation Firewalls as well as network micro-segmentation solutions, with a proven track record in network security leadership.

As the Network Security Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of up to five network security professionals, guiding them through complex cybersecurity projects and ensuring Citco’s network defenses are robust and resilient. This is not a general network management role; we are looking for a candidate with deep expertise in cybersecurity who can bring sophisticated solutions to the table.

Your Role:

• Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of up to five network security engineers, ensuring the team’s professional growth and the success of ongoing projects.
• Security Architecture and Management: Oversee the deployment, administration and optimization of network security solutions, including Next-Generation Firewalls and micro-segmentation technologies, ensuring they are configured and managed to provide comprehensive protection against evolving threats.
• Cloud Security Integration: Collaborate with cloud security teams to implement and manage network security in AWS and Azure environments, ensuring consistent and effective security controls across all cloud deployments.
• Cybersecurity Strategy Development: Work closely with the EVP of Security Architecture and Operations as well as other security leaders to develop and implement strategic cybersecurity initiatives, focusing on protecting our network infrastructure against emerging threats.
• Incident Detection and Response: Collaborate with the SOC and Threat Intelligence teams to support the implementation of advanced threat detection methodologies and actively participate in the incident response process to ensure timely and effective resolution of security incidents.
• Project Management: Manage network security projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of security and compliance.
• Advanced Security Analysis: Regularly review and assess the network environment to identify vulnerabilities, recommend improvements, and implement solutions that enhance overall security posture.

About You:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is required.
• Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in network security, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Extensive experience with Next-Generation Firewalls, including configuration, management, and advanced threat prevention features.
• Proven experience in securing cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure.
• Strong background in network design, architecture, and implementation of secure network infrastructures.
• Technical Expertise:
• In-depth Knowledge: Extensive understanding of network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network traffic analysis.
• Network Forensics: Experience in network forensics and threat detection, utilizing tools such as Wireshark, Zeek (formerly Bro), and open-source platforms for packet analysis and network anomaly detection.
• Vulnerability Management: Experience in managing vulnerability assessment reports and overseeing remediation efforts.
• Network Access Control (NAC): Proven experience in deploying and managing NAC solutions to enforce security policies and control network access.
• Zero Trust: Familiarity with Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) is desirable.
• Automation Skills: Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating network security tasks and processes. 
• Certifications:
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) is highly desirable.
• Certification in advanced network security technologies (e.g., vendor-specific firewall certifications) is required.
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty or Azure Security Engineer Associate certifications are a plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including senior management.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on identifying and mitigating security risks in the network.
• Strategic thinking capabilities to develop and implement a comprehensive network security strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture. 
• Compliance and Risk Management:
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST) as they relate to network security.
• Experience in assessing and managing risks, including the ability to prioritize security initiatives based on risk impact.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional Certifications: GIAC Certified Perimeter Protection Analyst (GPPA) or equivalent.
• Experience with Automation: Familiarity with automation tools and processes, including integration with SIEM solutions like Azure Sentinel or QRadar.
• Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated on the latest network security trends, threats, and technologies through continuous education and participation in industry forums and conferences.
