Job Description

The Division of Research, Innovation & Impact (RII) at the University of Missouri is excited to announce an opening for a new position, Research Coordinator – Middlebush Farm. This role provides management of the day-to-day research operations at the farm, ensures compliance with protocols, and facilitates communication among the research teams.

In this role, you will regularly:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate large animal research studies, ensuring all activities are conducted according to established protocols and timelines. Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the course of the research studies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between research teams, veterinarians, and farm staff. Facilitate regular meetings and updates.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze research data. Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with institutional, local, and federal regulations. Maintain up-to-date records of all regulatory documents.
  • Coordinate the use of facilities, equipment, and supplies across the six buildings. Ensure all resources are available and in good working condition.
  • Oversee the care and welfare of research animals. Work closely with veterinarians to monitor animal health and address any issues promptly.

You should possess good professional judgment, a strong work ethic, and be able to appropriately prioritize project deadlines in a self-directed environment. In addition, you should have strong problem solving and organizational skills, excellent customer service skills, a collaborative nature, and be able to manage priorities and meet deadlines. Strong Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills, are required.

Shift

Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in higher education research studies or coordination, must have experience working with large animals such as pigs or cows

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $51,875 – $81,744 per year

Grade: GGS-9E
