We are seeking a proactive, organised and flexible Education Administrator to join our team and support the fast-paced and wide-ranging education agenda within the School of the Physical Sciences.The TeamThe School Office Team is a growing team with a broad remit ranging from Education, IT, HR and Finance through to Planning, Strategy and Change Management. Our primary role is to support our Departments and Institutions on a wide range of issues, plus engage with the University’s central functions. We are led by Professor Nigel Peake, Head of School and Daniela Manca, Interim School Secretary. Our Education Agenda is led by Professor Deborah Longbottom, Director of Education and Professors Jess Gwynne and Oliver Shorttle, Deputy Directors of Education. We are based in the Mill Lane offices in central Cambridge and our team works in a flexible, hybrid manner which allows a mix of office and home-based working.About the RoleThe Education Administrator role is integral in supporting the School Office, providing a high quality, efficient and coordinated administrative function with a focus on our education remit.The role holder will provide support to the Degree Committee team who have dual responsibility for Physics & Chemistry, and Earth Sciences & Geography and covers the student journey from application through to the award of Degrees. Support for the education team will include tasks around the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Doctoral Training Programme which funds PhD training across all the disciplines of Physical Sciences and Technology, the STEM Widening Participation Internship Scheme and more generally assisting the whole education team as needed, including our Director and Deputy Directors of Education. There will also be the opportunity to support the Faculty Board and various academic promotions schemes. This is a broad role and the role holder will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of processes, activities and colleagues across the School.This is a varied and fast paced role and we are looking for someone who is capable of managing their own time and prioritising their workload, with the guidance of other team members as needed. It is an opportunity for someone to be a key part of the varied education agenda within the School of the Physical Sciences.Your Skills
