Job Summary: The Low Voltage – Data/Telecom Estimator assists the company in meeting its objectives and goals by overseeing and directing assigned commercial telecommunications, low voltage, voice and data communications projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare quantity take-offs of electrical and low voltage systems.
- Prepare detailed estimates including assigning material and labor values to take-offs.
- Acquire vendor pricing on specialty materials, equipment and systems.
- Partner with other estimators and team members to ensure a complete scope of work is defined and pricing review.
- Evaluate and assist with subcontractor and vendor scope and pricing review.
- Prepare scope letters and proposals.
- Prepare and manage communications internally and with general contractors or construction managers for assigned projects.
- Participate in project site walk-throughs, project kick-off and turn-over meetings.
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
- Regular, predictable and reliable onsite attendance is an essential function of the job.
Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years experience in estimating electrical power, lighting and low voltage electrical systems.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of electrical design documents in various stages of design completion.
- Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment and independently.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
