Join our network and help us shape the future of connectivity.Job Summary:As a QA Engineer in NETGEAR’s new Center of Excellence in Cork, you will be instrumental in shaping the next-generation software subscription services that are transforming our business. Your work will focus on enhancing our software development lifecycle, speeding up feedback to developers, and ensuring high-quality software reaches our customers.
This role is crucial to NETGEAR’s transformation, as you will help drive quality automation efforts and foster a culture of quality and automation within an Agile team. You will focus on reducing manual testing through automation, ensuring the team delivers robust and scalable software at speed. In this hybrid role, you will collaborate in-person from the Cork office at least two days a week, balancing collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.
Your contributions will play a pivotal role in NETGEAR’s evolution, driving the quality of its platform and shaping customer experiences as the company shifts towards a software-driven model.A Typical Day might include:
- Morning Stand-up: Kick off the day with a quick team meeting to discuss progress, roadblocks, and goals.
- Hands on test automation: You will be working with developers to build out automation while features are being developed.
- Manual testing: Not everything will be automated and someone with attention to detail is required for manual testing.
- UX Review and Planning: You will be a critical input to the UX planning as the voice of the customer ensuring the products we build are designed with the end user in mind.
- Process Improvement Discussions: You will be a key contributor to retrospectives after sprints with the team to identify. pain points and brainstorm solutions for better workflow efficiency.
- Strategic planning: Plan with the team what is the priority to automate and approach to automation.
Key Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in test automation within a customer-centric organisation.
- Strong hands-on experience writing automated tests using TypeScript and WebdriverIO.
- Experience with the Mocha testing framework is an advantage.
- Proficiency with test management tools and automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Postman, Playwright, Appium, Gherkin, Cucumber, Jira Xray, Zephyr).
- Comfort using source code control and CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions and various debugging tools.
- In-depth knowledge of JIRA for issue tracking and project management.
- Hands-on experience testing APIs and microservices.
- Familiarity with deploying and building microservices in the cloud, ideally with AWS, and using tools such as Yarn.
- Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- A quality advocate who promotes transparency in reporting and testing best practices.
- Creative thinker and problem solver with strong attention to detail.
- B.Sc. or equivalent vocational experience required.
