Job Description:Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales and Business Development Manager will have overall responsibility for all sales and marketing activities for Procon Engineering (which has a client base covering the UK and overseas), including the management of all sales department staff.The role includes marketing and new business development as well as maximising relationships and revenue with existing customers. You will utilise your sales management skills to improve performance in order to achieve business targets. As the Sales and Business Development Manager you will develop and implement action plans, maximise sales revenue and demonstrate commitment to surpass customers’ expectations. Working with the General Manager, you will establish long term strategies to drive revenue growth and expand customer relationships.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of sales staff including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment/monitoring of their goals and performance objectives (including annual reviews)
  • Provide technical and commercial support for all sales staff on a day to day basis
  • Take responsibility for the management of all marketing related activities (such as exhibitions, data sheets, website etc.), and implement associated strategy.
  • Identifying & development of new business opportunities, including lead generation, qualifying the needs of potential customers
  • Align company strategy with current and future business strategies of existing and new customers
  • Responsibility for building and maintain strong business relationships with customers whilst maximising and realising increase in revenue potential (and undertaking as necessary).
  • Provide sales leadership throughout the bidding phase by working in conjunction with the internal engineering team
  • Create and distribute monthly/quarterly/annual sales forecasts and activity plans to key stakeholders of the business
  • Full understanding of existing competitive technology and market pressures, identifying areas for product development ensuring Procon Engineering is at the forefront of the market
  • Oversee the preparation and development of customer proposals and quotations, including associated commercial terms. Including the liaison with suppliers to obtain technical and commercial information, and the preparation of supporting cost documentation.
  • Review and verify that the commercial terms and conditions of proposed customer contracts are acceptable to Procon Engineering and negotiate with the customer to achieve this.
  • Oversee/manage any commercial changes to an order and communication of the same to the Customer
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with other sales staff
  • Departmental responsibility for meeting sales revenue forecasts.
  • Build customer profiles; identifying key decision-makers and buyers
  • Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
  • Maintain an up to date working knowledge of current applicable technical, quality assurance and legislative standards, and company product portfolio.
  • Manage budgets and expenditures
  • Travel to customer sites as required.
