Senior Programme/Portfolio Manager

DublinWe’re searching for a highly qualified senior portfolio/programme manager for an important and innovative programme of work
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and strong skills in overseeing a broad range of programme work streams involving multiple projects using an Agile Project Management Methodology within a large scale Government Department.The senior portfolio/programme manager will also collate, prepare and publish status updates regularly to relevant channels. Project cost / budget management and programme documentation oversight is a key element of this role.Objectives of this role
- Ensure programmes and projects are monitored and managed to achieve scope, quality, time and cost goals.
- Oversee programmes of projects from planning through deployment, to ensure consistency of approach across projects with regards to backlog, prioritisation, schedules, scopes, sprints, forecast estimations and budget management
- Risk identification and mitigations reviewed regularly
- Analyse project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that programme objectives can be met
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
Responsibilities
- Work with Project Managers to oversee collate, prepare and publishing portfolio of projects status on monthly basis
- Establish and maintain processes for managing project status during the project lifecycle across programmes
- Assign and monitor programme resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to portfolio/programme status
- Manage multiple third party/vendor relationships
- Manage relationships with senior stakeholders
Required skills and qualifications
- Seven years of portfolio/programme management experience in large and complex organisations –ideally including within the public service
- Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
- Proven success working with all levels of management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Agile Scrum certification or familiarity
- Preferred skills and qualifications
- Professional programme and project certification such as PMP or PRINCE2
