Farm Clean Up Opr PR04 – 2nd Shift – Seasonal Labor – Tecumseh Peterson Farm

Job Details:

Hours: 11:00am – 7:30pm

Pay: $18.45/hr

Seasonal Only Position – Anticipated the need through the end of February.

SUMMARY: This position is located at the Company owned farms and works directly with the Farm Manager and co-workers to prepare chicken houses for the arrival of new chicks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare chicken houses for clean-out
• Prepare chicken houses for placement and place chicks
• Operate litter conditioning machine and manure spreader
• Master and practice essential farm animal husbandry
• Conduct minor maintenance on farm equipment
• Outdoor duties include: mowing, weed spraying and grass trimming
• Adhere to all Animal Welfare Standards and biosecurity program regulations
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work and operate farm tractor, skid steer, weed eater and all other equipment safely and effectively
• Ability to provide minor maintenance on all farm equipment
• Ability to use time wisely while working independently
• Willingness to function as part of a team and work toward team goals
• Good observation skills and attention to detail, eager to learn new ideas
• Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as required

Physical Requirements / Environment: 

• Occasionally (1-3 hrs.): crawl, crouch, kneel, squat or balance
• Frequently (3-6 hrs.): lift/carry push/pull (up to 45 lbs.), simple/firm grasping, reaching at shoulder height or slightly above, bend/stoop, fine manipulation/hand tools, climb working at unprotected heights when on a ladder
• Continuously (6-8 hrs.): stand/walk, work around moving machinery, exposed to marked changes in temperature; outside in varied weather conditions, indoors in a regulated environment, around and amongst poultry dust, odor and blood, as well as fumes, talk and hear, use 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses

Requirements: 6-month Production experience listed on the application (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).

Rehire Consideration:

• Max of two (2) previous Tyson Employments to be considered.
• 90 days (3 months) waiting period.
