North Europe Telecom – Technical Sales Support

Team overview and job responsibilities:

We are looking for the Technical Sales support professional who will Identify and generate telecom, connectivity and data center business opportunities in collaboration with Sales team through broad technical level expertise, business understanding and cross functional interaction with sales, R&D, operations, and supply chain. This position requires a professional who can demonstrate strong knowledge in optical networks, telecommunications and data centers.

Advanced business development, technical and marketing skills are a must as the Technical Sales Support interacts with internal and external business partners and customers.

The successful candidate can operate under minimal supervision, is a self-motivated, fast learner and is highly competent in identifying and executing strategies to develop new product and business opportunities for Prysmian’s optical cable and connectivity solutions.

Your daily duties will include, and You will be responsible on the following:

  • develop and maintain strong relationships with cloud, colocation and telecom operators to influence customer strategic decisions as well as network deployments
  • work closely with sales and R&D leadership to implement and execute strategies to develop new business opportunities for advanced optical cabling systems
  • Coordinate with Prysmian’s international sales teams to open business development interactions with strategic customers
  • Understand customer business and product requirements, coordinate with sales and R&D teams the enhancement portfolio to the needs of the customers, telecom and cloud markets. Drive workshops on customer site and provide technical sales support.
  • Recognize market and technological trends, uses market research and attends tradeshows to anticipate future directions for the portfolio and identify innovation opportunities
  • Drive successful launch of new products, provides guidance to optimize current product portfolio and forecasts
  • Coordinate Environmental Product Declaration documents together with Sustainability/Sales team based on customer needs.
  • Provide technical support to sales in bid tendering processes.
  • Provide technical support in products homologation.
  • Provide competitive analysis and market information

  • Excellent leadership, business acumen, organization and decision-making skills
  • Strong collaborative skills with internal and external business partners, experience working in an international team
  • Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with senior executives both internally and externally 

Competencies

  • Self-starter with the ability to communicate and interact with customers at high levels
  • Leading change, and pro-active approach in promoting innovation at customers
  • Autonomous and results-oriented
  • Strong planning, organizational and prioritization skills

Experience

Education:

Degree in an electronics, optics or communication engineering discipline.

Background:

5 years of relevant experience in the telecom industry. Technical Sales support management and or business development experience within a strongly technical organization

Language:

In order to interface with all Prysmian manufacturing locations and customers Product Line Manager must be fluent in English. Additionally, Swedish or Danish will be a plus.

Location: 

This position is based in Delft (NL) and requires regular international travels within North Europe perimeter, mainly Scandinavia (50%-70% time).
