Accountant in Monterey, California

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accountant to be a part of our team in Monterey, California. In this role, you will be expected to perform a variety of accounting and reporting functions, leveraging your knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This is a short term contract employment opportunity where the incumbent will be required to handle complex technical work related to accounting procedures, fund accounting, and fiscal management.

Responsibilities

• Accurately processing various accounting transactions in accordance with Federal and State laws, Agency policies, procedures, and memoranda of understanding.

• Utilizing Accounting Software Systems and ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning tools for efficient financial management.

• Handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure accurate record keeping.

• Conducting Auditing processes to ensure financial compliance and integrity.

• Managing Budget Processes to aid in the organization’s fiscal planning.

• Using Great Plains (GPAC) and other ERP Solutions for effective financial resource management.

• Executing other accounting functions as required to maintain the financial health of the organization.

• Leveraging ADP – Financial Services for efficient payroll processes and reporting requirements. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting.

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with ADP – Financial Services is a must.

• Knowledge and understanding of ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning.

• Familiarity with ERP Solutions is required.

• Hands-on experience with Great Plains (GPAC) software.

• Proficient in various accounting functions.

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP).

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Prior experience in auditing is necessary.

• Familiarity with budget processes is required.
