Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a curious and autonomous Senior Scientist with strong organic chemistry background to join our Medicinal Chemistry department based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.About the RoleThis role involves leading laboratory work independently while receiving strategic guidance. You’ll generate and integrate results from your discipline and related functions to propose next steps. You’ll strive to broaden your knowledge of drug discovery and create solutions to facilitate project delivery. Your contributions will be visible in medicinal chemistry project strategy and progression, extending your influence beyond your section.What You’ll Do
- Provide independent scientific leadership from the laboratory, working autonomously to deliver new chemical entities to maximize project impact.
- Continuously improve knowledge and skills within your discipline and beyond, contributing to the optimization of drug discovery processes.
- Contribute to the scientific and operational strategy in your area, ensuring effective execution to maximize project progression and delivery.
- Participate in recruiting, developing, and retaining key talent, mentoring less experienced colleagues, and supervising students when appropriate.
- Define and maintain a safe and effective working environment, setting high personal performance standards and adhering to company HSE codes.
- Establish effective communication within global chemistry and adjacent departments, building a professional network internally and externally.

- Master’s Degree with industry experience or PhD.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
