We are in search of an AP Accountant to join our team in Monterey, California. This role is a part time 3 days a week, and it requires carrying out a broad range of accounting responsibilities, adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You will be involved in various accounting and reporting functions, and your expertise in governmental accounting practices, fund accounting, and fiscal management will be highly useful. This is a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Execute a variety of accounting tasks utilizing knowledge of Accounting Software Systems, ADP – Financial Services, ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning, and ERP Solutions.

• Utilize Great Plains (GPAC) for various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

• Handle both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), maintaining accurate records and resolving any issues promptly.

• Conduct auditing tasks to ensure compliance with regulations and maintain the financial integrity of the organization.

• Participate in budget processes, providing insights and recommendations to ensure financial sustainability.

• Ensure all transactions are processed and reported in accordance with Federal and State laws, as well as Agency policies and procedures.

• Conduct more complex technical work as required, demonstrating a thorough understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and reporting requirements.

• Assist in special studies as needed, providing important financial data and analysis.

Requirements • Possess at least 5 years of experience in the accounting field.

• Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems.

• Familiar with ADP – Financial Services.

• Experience in ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning.

• Knowledge in ERP Solutions.

• Able to use Great Plains (GPAC) software.

• Understands and can perform Accounting Functions.

• Experienced in handling Accounts Payable (AP).

• Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

• Possesses auditing skills.

• Knowledgeable in budget processes.
