Technical Project Manager Telecom Domain Experience
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a robust background in the telecommunications industry, particularly with Tier 1 Telecom providers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of telecom networks, services, and technologies, and have a proven track record of managing large-scale projects within the telecom domain.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage end-to-end project planning, execution, and delivery within the telecom domain, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Tier 1 Telecom providers, to understand project requirements, expectations, and deliverables.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize extensive telecom domain knowledge to provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, including network architecture, service deployment, and optimization.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project outcomes. Develop contingency plans as needed.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and deadlines. Monitor resource utilization and performance.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of products and services. Negotiate contracts and agreements as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management within the telecom industry, with a focus on Tier 1 Telecom providers. Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex projects.
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of telecom networks, technologies, and services, including 5G, LTE, VoIP, and fiber optics. Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with telecom regulatory requirements and standards.
- Knowledge of telecom systems and OSS/BSS platforms.
- Experience with core network planning and optimization tools.
- Understanding Network design principles and practices within the telecom domain.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
