Come join the Tillamook Team where our philosophy is “Dairy Done Right.” As an independent farmer-owned cooperative, we have been guided by good, honest values since 1909. We believe in putting quality over profit, natural over artificial, and that hard work can never be outsmarted. We’re taking a stand for real food, because everyone deserves better.

About you:

What does real food mean to you? Is your favorite dish a cheesy casserole? Perhaps a decadent and indulgent ice cream? Either way, your identification with food is important to us. People who fit well here at Tillamook have a commitment to quality in everything they do. Our team members understand our vision, contribute to our mission, thrive on innovative thinking, hard work and good, honest values.

About us:

We live by these shared values: We are Good Stewards, We believe in Uncompromising Quality, We work as One Team, We Play to Win, and We Genuinely Care for each other.

About the TCCA Summer Intern Program:

Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA)’s Summer Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program for graduate and undergraduate students to join the Tillamook team to connect to our 115-year-old heritage. Our interns play a significant role in solving real-world business challenges and enjoy bites of our ice cream, cheese and beloved dairy products every step of the way. As a farmer-owned cooperative, we invite interns to visit the farms of our farmer-owners so they can see what cow care, environmental stewardship and the daily operations of a dairy farm look like up close. In addition to the farm tour, we host multiple enriching experiences throughout the duration of the program, that include: being an honorary Tillamook taste bud for the day with our immersive cheese and ice cream tastings, “college-inspired” cooking class with our executive chef, resume & interview workshop, sales market tours and so much more!

This role is based out of our manufacturing plant, located in Tillamook, OR.

What you will do:

Partnering with the cross functional Farm Services team to support multiple community events; general farm services tasks and projects; working within the Tillamook archives. This role includes working and communicating with multiple internal and external stakeholders; event and volunteer management; developing event communications, photos, and social posts. You will shadow and assist farm services staff with farm troubleshooting and technical problem solving, learn about various projects centered on continuous improvement, waste reduction, sustainability, animal care, food safety and conservation.

This internship would benefit someone interested in cooperatives, a wide range of professional skill-building activities, and could provide some great experience in project and event management, while learning about farmer-owned cooperatives and the Tillamook brand!

Here’s a day in the life:

  • Support day-day farm services tasks including: data collection, analysis and sampling of cows, soil, water; milk quality, animal care and natural resources projects (including our $4M RCPP grant).
  • Support with TCCA communications and articles for internal newsletters
  • Support with Tillamook Archives that need to be digitized and cataloged. The project could include a presentation, article or video about something of historical significance.
  • Support of internal/external events and volunteer management, to include set-up and breakdown, and on-site responsibilities. This includes several summer parades and the Tillamook County Fair.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Basic ability to organize and plan.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PPT, Word, Excel).
