The 4-H Youth Development Director / Farm Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the for all programming efforts and activities for the 4-H Youth Development program and Suffolk County Farm and Education Center.
Responsible for overall program development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of 4-H Youth Development educational programs including the farm management functions for Suffolk County Farm and Education Center. Includes program assessment, evaluation, development, and delivery as well as direction, management, and coordination of all programming efforts. This position will also ensure that the educational programs reflect the current needs and the diversity of people in the County, and that programs conform to the objectives and mission of Cornell Cooperative Extension and the overall Association. Serve as a member of the administrative management team for the Association. Supervise professional, para-professional, farm management team, Cornell Cooperative Extension staff, volunteers, and Cornell University faculty. Act as resource leader to the 4-H Youth Development Program Advisory and Farm Advisory Committee. This position will need to maintain positive working relationships with school district professionals, county employees, including the Sheriff’s department, community agency personnel and service providers.
Responsible for effective management of resources available to the program area, and for assuring that accountability and affirmative action requirements are met within the program area. Represent the Association before the public, community leaders, government officials and Cornell University in conjunction with program and leadership responsibilities.
POSITION DETAILS:
Salary: $90,000-$95,000 per year
Schedule: EXEMPT – Reg: 40+ hours per week
