Accountant in Butler, Pennsylvania

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel Corporation has an opening for an Accountant at our Butler Works location. This role is responsible for budget development, report creation, and overall preparation and maintenance of accurate and complete records of a general and/or cost accounting nature requiring application of a broad range of accounting techniques and practices. Summary of Responsibilities:

• Prepares standard accounting reports by gathering, recording, and accumulating data.

• Interprets accounting results, recognizes deviations, analyzes causes, and makes recommendations for improvements or corrective action.

• Collects, analyzes, and reports actual manufacturing costs, material, labor, etc., compares budget costs to actual production costs.

• Develops reports and analytics while working closely with Operations management on financial impact and final reporting.

• Maintains internal control and compliance requirements related to manufacturing accounting activities.

• Prepares weekly cost projections and provides support for month end closings

• Assists with internal/external audit requests and continually improves processes and documentation.

• Analyzes and transfers information to spreadsheets and graphs for more meaningful analysis.

• Other duties as assigned.

  Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
