Accountant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Description

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Accountant will be responsible for handling various tasks related to general ledger management, account reconciliation, financial analysis, and compliance and reporting. They will also support audit operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely accounting entries.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the preparation and maintenance of accurate journal entries, in compliance with accounting standards

• Reconciliation of various accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank statements, and intercompany accounts

• Assisting in the month-end and year-end close processes, which includes the preparation of financial reports, balance sheets, and income statements

• Analyzing financial data, variances, and trends to aid in management decision-making

• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, and accurately reporting taxes when necessary

• Collaborating with auditors by providing the necessary documentation for internal or external audits

• Working closely with teams across the organization, such as payroll, accounts payable/accounts receivable, and financial reporting, to ensure accurate and timely accounting entries

Requirements

• Proficiency in executing diverse accounting functions.

• Demonstrated experience in auditing to ensure financial compliance.

• Previous experience working within Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Account Reconciliation

• Experience working within an ERP system is a plus

• Bachelors or AA degree in Accounting or Finance

• Experience in using Pivot Tables and Formulas within Excel
