Accountant in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Description

We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for an Accountant, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including the compilation and analysis of financial data, preparation of accounting entries and reports, and auditing of business transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyze financial data to prepare general ledger account entries

• Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret the company’s current and projected financial position

• Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement

• Implement and modify accounting systems and control procedures, documenting changes as necessary

• Maintain and suggest improvements for the general accounting system

• Make recommendations and execute transactions regarding the accounts of reserves, assets, and expenditures

• Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization’s accounting operation

• Perform treasury transactions, such as wires, credit card transactions, checks & ACH

• Collect data for federal, state, and local reports and tax returns

• Adhere to company policies and safety rules at all times

• Undertake other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Familiarity with ADP – Financial Services is highly desirable

• Experience with Concur is beneficial

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is essential

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven experience in Auditing

• Ability to handle Balance Sheet Account preparations and analysis.
