Description

We are working with a large school district seeking a skilled Accountant with a background in full-cycle accounting and grant management. This role will involve managing both day-to-day transactional accounting and overseeing grant budgeting and compliance. Candidates with previous experience in a school district or similar environment are encouraged to apply. The position is contract or contract-to-hire, with the possibility of long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle transactional accounting, including A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and journal entries.

• Oversee grant accounting, including budgeting, compliance, and reporting on various funding sources.

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions in accordance with district policies.

• Collaborate with program and finance teams to track grant expenditures and ensure adherence to budget guidelines.

• Assist with audit preparation and provide necessary reports to funding agencies.

  Requirements

Previous experience in full-cycle accounting, including grant accounting (required).

Experience managing budgets and grants in an educational or public sector setting (preferred).

Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
