Accountant in Collierville, Tennessee

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry based in Collierville, Tennessee. The role primarily involves managing accounting functions, particularly in the areas of commissions accounting, payroll, month-end close, and freight and rebate accrual accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Execute month-end journal entries in a timely and accurate manner

• Oversee and manage commissions and payroll accounting, including payroll accrual

• Handle sales elimination and in-transit accounting tasks

• Manage freight accounting processes, including freight bill, freight carriers, and freight charges

• Oversee rebate accrual accounting procedures

• Utilize Accounting software such as QAD and Ceridian Payroll System effectively in performing accounting tasks

• Ensure all accounting tasks are in compliance with industry standards

• Monitor and manage freight costs effectively

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of accounting processes

• Resolve any accounting discrepancies and irregularities. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Functions

• Experience with Commissions Accounting

• Knowledge of Compensation – Commissions

• Familiarity with QAD software

• Experience with Ceridian Payroll System

• Capability to perform Month End Close tasks

• Understanding of Rebate calculations

• Experience with Freight Bill processing

• Familiarity with Freight Carriers management

• Experience in handling Freight Charges

• Knowledge of Freight Costs management

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

• Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge as required by the job

• Compliance with all company policies and procedures

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
