Accountant, Fostoria, OH
Assists with performing and improving all phases of Association accounting, reporting, and internal control functions including the 100% guaranteed purchases in such a manner as to provide quality customer service to internal and external customers, ensure data accuracy and integrity, to meet Association data and informational needs, adhere to regulations, laws and accounting standards, and allow the Operations team to fulfill its assigned functions.
Responsibilities
* Assists in preparing and documenting the periodic management, FCA Call Report, financial report and related reports.
* Assists with the daily general ledger input, maintenance, monitoring and reconciliations.
* Assists with the designated monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and/or annual internal control and/or accounting system review and reconciliations.
* Assists in the ideas for, development of, and maintenance of reports, including those designed in Excel, SSRS, and Access.
* Assist with management’s analysis of our portfolio, processes, and performance; including but not limited to, risk management related reporting.
* Assists with developing and maintaining accounting internal controls, reconciliations, reports and Operational manuals.
* Assists with the day-to-day cash management and bank account reconciliation processes.
* Assists with maintaining and reconciling the Asset Management System (fixed assets).
* Assists with the daily accounts payable function including coding invoices, requesting support/approval of invoices, keying invoices, coordinating the timing of check runs, and vendor management.
* Assists with the 100% Guaranteed Purchase program (Branch 92) including purchases, sales, and overall maintenance of the loan portfolio
* Assists in gathering information and support for annual audits/reviews related to financial, internal controls, FCA, etc.
* Contributes daily to providing quality customer service to internal and external customers, build positive team spirit, and develop quality working relationships between all team members.
* Cooperatively works with loan operations to learn and support the loan accounting functions.
* Complete training programs as organized and/or approved by AgCredit.
* Any other duties as assigned by the CFO, COO and/or Controller.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business with a concentration in accounting or an associate’s degree in accounting, finance or business with at least two years of experience preferably in general ledger, loan accounting and/or general accounting.
* Able to work independently, possess time management skills, maintain confidentiality and interact effectively with a diverse group of people.
