Job Description:

Hawaii’s Best Workplace is hiring for a company looking to hire an Accountant for a 6-month contract with the opportunity to renew for a year and possible continuous renewal. They are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join their team as an Accountant. In this role, you will support our accounting department by managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile daily cash and ensure timely disbursement of funds, maintaining compliance with Federal Grant Management requirements.
• Manage payroll balances, project cash needs, request funds, and handle journal vouchers for Federal accounts.
• Review and analyze financial reports, prepare annual EPA and Federal Financial Reports, and manage FAMIS cash transfers.
• Process accounting transactions for DOH programs, including repayments, disbursements, and purchase orders, and prepare journal entries.
• Provide advisory services, assist with budget requests, monitor expenses, and support audits with necessary accounting data.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Business
• More than 2 years of specialized work experience in GAAP
• Masters degree in accounting or 1 years of accounting experience
• Proficient in GAAP, government accounting standards, financial math, and FAMIS accounting system.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to use accounting software. Skilled in financial calculations, report writing, and budget management.
