Accountant in Ithaca, New York

PRIMARY JOB DESCRIPTION, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain the accounting system including financial records, product costs and general ledger. *Collect and analyze data about the company’s operational costs. *Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actually production costs. *Develop and analyze cost standards. *Establish and maintain business processes and accounting policies. *Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings. *Support month-end and year-end closing process including assisting in internal and external audits. *Prepare financial statements in accordance to General accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). *Reconcile financial data and analyze account discrepancies. *Prepare budgets and financial forecasts to assist management in decision making. *Compile and analyze financial data to identify trends and assess the company’s financial health. *At all times, work to Therm, Incorporated Code of Ethics, Safety Standards and Quality Policies while performing operational functions. *Must pass a physical examination including drug testing. *Background checks also performed.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.2 years of cost accounting experience.Sound understanding of accounting principles.Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem solving skills.Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Excellent report writing, communication and IT skills.Working knowledge of accounting software, Excel and Word.Benefits Available to Full Time Employees:Medical, Dental, Vision & Prescription Drug PlanFlex Spending AccountLife / ADD Insurance10 Paid HolidaysPaid Vacation56 Hours Paid Personal Time401(k) with Company MatchEAP- Employee Assistance ProgramService Award ProgramEducation & Tuition Reimbursement ProgramEmployee Referral Incentive ProgramAFLAC InsurancePFL- Paid Family Leave*Annual Company PicnicTHERM, Incorporated is an EEO/AA Employer.
