JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs intermediate administrative work performing accounting and
inventory audits, various administrative duties, analyzing multiple
financial annual reports, preparing and maintaining detailed records,
files, and reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is
performed under the limited supervision of the Finance Division Manager.
We are seeking a bright, creative, goal-oriented, high energy, and
hardworking professional to fill our Accountant position. The candidate
must be a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and
able to handle multiple engagements concurrently. The selected candidate
is expected to display considerable initiative in meeting deadlines, as
well as identifying ways to improve and/or streamline processes within
their areas of responsibility.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in governmental
accounting and preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is a
plus. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Governmental
Financial Manager (CGFM) certifications are preferred. Knowledge of
generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) accounting and/or
Modified Accrual Accounting as it relates to government. Knowledge of
all areas of finance including general ledger, internal controls,
accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, debt and lease
accounting, grants, payroll, property accounting, budgeting, revenue and
cash management.
