Accountant in Las Cruces, New Mexico

Description We are looking for a diligent Accountant to join our team in Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States. In this role, you will be tasked with managing Accounts Receivable, maintaining accurate financial records in line with GAAP guidelines, and contributing to financial reports. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, providing the chance to work within a non-profit setting.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out comprehensive management of Accounts Receivable on a regular basis

• Balance all receivables and grants/contracts monthly

• Participate in maintaining assets and property records

• Conduct random audit checks and ensure bank reconciliations are completed

• Provide backup for Payroll and Accounts Payable roles when required

• Participate in job-related developmental training to enhance skills and knowledge

• Ensure adherence to GAAP guidelines and maintain audit-ready records

• Contribute to the preparation of financial reports

• Use accounting software systems and ERP solutions effectively for various accounting functions

• Handle revenue accounting and other accounting procedures efficiently. Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role

Must have Covid vax

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP – Financial Services

• Knowledge of ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)

• Skilled in various accounting functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Auditing experience, particularly within a business context

• Understanding and experience with budget processes

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

• Must have legal authorization to work in the country of employment

• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive professional reference check.
