Accountant in Portland, Oregon

Description

We are in search of a diligent Sr. Accountant to join our client’s team in Portland, Oregon. This position is central to their operations, with responsibilities ranging from handling accounts payable and receivable to trust accounting and general operational accounting. This is a short-term contract position that offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and develop your accounting skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the management of accounts payable and receivable to ensure accurate record keeping.

• Conduct account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation to maintain financial accuracy.

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for and properly recorded.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and data analysis.

• Handle trust accounting, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.

• Participate in general operational accounting tasks to support the overall financial operations of the company.

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure all accounting activities are completed accurately and on time.

• Assist in the resolution of any accounting discrepancies or issues.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.

• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all financial regulations and procedures.

Requirements • Proficient in Account Reconciliation

• Strong skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Mastery of Microsoft Excel

• Knowledgeable in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

• At least five years of experience in a similar role

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficient in other accounting software is a plus

• Understanding of accounting principles and regulations

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
