Accountant in Riverside, Rhode Island

Description We are in search of a diligent Accountant to join our team in Riverside, Rhode Island. The individual will be primarily responsible for supporting the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, managing month-end closures, and ensuring all accounting activities are up to date. This role offers an extended contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) clerks in managing and processing transactions.

• Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring all account reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.

• Keep all accounting functions up to date, including daily reconciliations.

• Utilize software such as Accumatica and Salesforce to manage and streamline accounting tasks.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Maintain and manage the balance sheet account, ensuring all entries and records are accurate.

• Collaborate with other team members to improve and streamline accounting processes and procedures.

• Resolve any accounting discrepancies and irregularities promptly and accurately.

• Provide support and guidance to junior staff members as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) operations

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) operations

• Knowledge of Auditing processes and standards

• Ability to manage Balance Sheet Account

• Capable of conducting Month End Close processes

• Experience in Daily Reconciliation activities

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
