Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accountant in Saint Louis, MO.Summary:As an Accountant, you will perform daily accounting activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures, such as, maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Familiar with a variety of general accounting concepts practices and procedures.Responsibilities:

  • Accountant will maintain adequate accounting and control for various accounting functions

  • Prepares journal entries

  • Assists with regulatory reporting as needed

  • Prepares financial statements and reports

  • Maintains and supports development of automated accounting systems, controls, and procedures

  • As an Accountant, you will prepare and develop reports for management and/or for regulatory authorities

  • Responds to inquiries regarding accounting policies, procedures, and issues from management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or 5 years of experience in financial accounting activities

  • Previous accounting experience is obviously a must

  • Knowledge of GAAP/accounting/reporting, proficiency in excel, and someone who can work independently

  • A strong understanding of Excel

  • Someone who has prepared journal entries or prepared financial statements is preferable; We have noticed that individuals who have worked in public accounting have picked up on assigned work much faster than those without the public accounting background

  • This position should not require overtime

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
