Key Responsibilities

Financial Recordkeeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization.

Prepare journal entries, balance sheets, and general ledger entries.

Ensure all financial transactions are recorded according to accounting standards.

Financial Statement Preparation:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Assist in preparing reports for management and external stakeholders.

Reconciliation:

Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Resolve discrepancies in financial records and provide recommendations for improvement.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Monitor actual performance against the budget and report on variances.

Tax Preparation:

Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

Assist with tax audits and handle any tax-related inquiries.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

Ensure proper internal controls are in place for the safeguarding of company assets.

Monitor compliance with financial regulations and corporate policies.

Audit Support:

Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Ensure audit recommendations are implemented and corrective actions are taken.

Financial Analysis:

Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost savings.

Provide financial advice to management to support decision-making processes.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).

CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation (preferred).

Experience:

2+ years of experience in accounting or finance.

Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Excel).

Skills:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

 

Work Environment

Office-based, with occasional remote work opportunities depending on company policies.

Typically works in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
