Accountant in Woodbury, New York

Description

We are looking for a skilled Part-Time Accountant to assist in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company. The Part-Time Accountant will work closely with the finance team to handle day-to-day accounting tasks, reconcile accounts, prepare financial reports, and support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

• Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.

• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or trends that may require attention.

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing relevant financial information and analysis.

• Assist with tax preparation and compliance efforts.

• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

• Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience working as an accountant or in a similar role.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
