Position Overview

The Accounting Specialist I provides basic accounting and administrative support to the Accounting & Finance

team. Responsibilities include recording transactions, maintaining financial records, and assisting with standard

Accounts Payable (AP) and/or Accounts Receivable (AR) functions under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Record basic transactions and create general ledger journal entries with oversight.
• Assist with account reconciliations and resolve routine discrepancies.
• Collect, scan, file, and maintain financial documents, reports, and records.
• Support the processing of vendor invoices, employee expenses, and client billings.
• Respond to standard questions from internal teams regarding payment and billing inquiries.
• Assist with the preparation of audit documentation and compliance reporting.
• Complete assigned special projects and administrative tasks in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling financial information.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
• 1–4 years of accounting or administrative experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and AP/AR processes.
• Comfort with accounting or ERP systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on routine tasks with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Travel Requirements

• This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional

travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for occasional off-site meetings, training sessions, or

company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business

needs.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
• The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
• The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
• The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
