The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is a state wide campus, with faculty based on University campuses, at Research and Extension Centers and in every Arkansas county. It consists of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) and the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (CES), and is home to more than 1400 employees. The Division was established in 1959 and is headed by the Vice-President for Agriculture. The Division headquarters is located in Little Rock with the rest of the University of Arkansas System Administration. LFST jobsnear.org Livestock and Forestry Research Station

Provide support in general farm operations including forage production (spraying, fertilizing, planting) and harvesting (mowing, raking, and baling hay). Provide support in general infrastructure maintenance and repairs including building and repairing fences, removal of trees, repair of shade structures, and repair of water lines. Provide support in farm equipment maintenance including lubrication and minor repairs. Provide support to herd management practices including assisting with herd checks, calving, gathering, sorting, and feeding. Complete others duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years of experience operating farm equipment and livestock
Additional Information:
Completion of pesticide applicator training within one month of hire. Completion of Beef Quality Assurance training within one month of hire. Completion of other training as assigned. Must be able to operate or learn to operate four-wheelers, utility vehicles, farm tractors and farm implements

$30,000
