Agri-Flow Equipment & Supply is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Taber, AB. The HD Mechanic will be responsible for the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of a variety of agricultural equipment. Expertise in diagnosing and solving technical issues will help keep customers’ equipment in top working condition and ensure their satisfaction.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time permanent position with the hourly wage ranging from $30-$40 depending on skill set and education levels. Hours of work will be Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Some overtime and/or weekend work will be required during our peak season. Health and Dental benefits are available after 3 months. RRSP benefits are available after 12 months.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on a variety of agricultural equipment, including tractors, harvesters, and implements.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections.
Conduct equipment inspections and identify areas requiring repair or replacement.
Use diagnostic tools and manuals to identify and resolve complex technical problems.
Provide expert technical advice to customers and colleagues.
Test equipment repairs to ensure proper functioning.
Communicate with customers to understand equipment issues and explain necessary repairs.
Provide estimated repair costs and timelines to customers.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service during interactions with customers.
Be on call depending on crucial service calls and seasonal requirements.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of service and repair work, including parts used and hours worked.
Complete service reports and provide documentation to customers as needed.
Assist with warranty claims and paperwork.
Communicate parts needed to the parts department in a timely manner.
Monitor and report on parts usage and inventory levels.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries during the assembly process.
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Red Seal Journeyperson certification is preferred.
Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.
Prior experience servicing agricultural equipment is a strong asset.
Strong understanding of hydraulic and electronic systems in ag machinery.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical systems.
Experience in a similar role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
