About the College/Unit/Department
In 2018, The UGA Tifton Campus began a yearlong Centennial celebration with various events to commemorate its 100th anniversary of providing updated research to the community.
Research is done on a wide range of commodities, including cotton, peanuts, vegetables and turf grass, all of which make agriculture the No. 1 industry in Georgia.
In 2004, a teaching program was initiated and it has been growing ever since. College-level instruction on campus is aimed at undergraduate and graduate-degree level study.

Position Summary
The principal duties of the position include, but are not limited to, 1) providing day-to-day support of research, under the direction of the Farm Manager, of the operation of a beef research farm of approximately 1,500 acres, 2) direct involvement in all aspects of daily care of beef cattle, including feeding, breeding, calving, forage management, herd health, feedlot management, etc., 3) working with faculty and other farm staff to ensure that the research, teaching, and extension missions are accomplished, 4) performing all tasks related to fencing, making facility improvements and repairs, and other tasks as requested.
