Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston is looking for full-time Scheduling Specialists to support our ophthalmic patients and providers. This is an inbound and outbound contact center position where you will be responsible for receiving and making phone calls to schedule or reschedule appointments for both new and existing patients. There is no face-to-face interaction with patients or other customers; approximately 90% of your time will be spent on the phone.Your responsibilities will include handling a minimum of 60 to 100 phone calls per day, addressing online requests, assisting patients in navigating to the triage team for further evaluation, and completing patient registration to schedule or reschedule appointments. Our goal is to ensure that patients, providers, and other customers receive timely, efficient, and high-quality service. In this role, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the patient’s experience.Position Summary: We are seeking detail-oriented and customer-focused Appointment Schedulers to join our high-volume call center team. The ideal candidates will have experience with patient registration, setting up patient demographics, verifying insurance plans and benefits, and delivering exceptional service to both patients and referring providers. This role is essential in coordinating patient care by efficiently scheduling appointments for multiple physicians while adhering to specific scheduling criteria and appointment guidelines.This position is onsite Monday through Friday 8:30-5PM.Key Responsibilities:· Schedule appointments accurately and efficiently for multiple physicians across our practice.· Understand and follow physician-specific scheduling protocols and appointment types.· Collect and enter accurate patient demographic and insurance information into the system.· Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits as needed.· Provide outstanding customer service to patients and referring providers via phone and other communication platforms.· Respond to inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and a thorough understanding of office procedures.· Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care.Qualifications:· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.· Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or call center environment, with appointment scheduling experience highly preferred.· Knowledge of insurance plans, benefits verification, and medical terminology.· Strong organizational and time management skills.· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.· Proficiency with scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Preferred Skills:· Prior experience in a high-volume medical call center.· Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.Benefits Offered:
