What you’ll do as an Area Trainer
- Deliver and facilitate instructor-led technical, safety, and regulatory training programs.
- Regularly visit area locations to ensure company safety, technical training programs, and protocols.
- Develop materials and measurement tools for training goals and objectives.
- Demonstrate proper use of safety equipment and guidance on safety issues and industry best practices while maintaining compliance with all regulations.
- Field visits providing safety improvement and technical best practices recommendations and solutions.
- Conducts meetings to communicate safety expectations to all employees and helps motivate the group to reach all safety goals.
- Strict adherence to corporate and field policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required.
What you’ll need
- Ability to travel weekly to all locations
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- Additional qualifications (if applicable)
- 1+ years of telecom industry/field experience
- Proven track record of technician training
- 1+ years leadership role involving safety, training, and/or operations
- Intermediate MS Office Suite skills and familiarity with Google Suite.
- Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
- 5+ years telecom industry/field experience
- Demonstrate proficient understanding in: gaffing, confined spaces, splicing of coaxial hardline cable, fiber optic cable and copper (wireline) cable, aerial lift, and Directional Bore equipment.
- Experience developing safety and/or operational procedures and policies with strong technical writing skills.
- Certifications: OSHA 10, 20, 30 Hour Certification
Physical abilities & exposures
The position will require flexibility to conduct orientation and training sessions, travel would fluctuate, as much as 60% of the time.
- Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
- The employee will be sitting, bending, using hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding, or stooping while on shift
- Ability to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, and hard hat
- Remote work may be required – long driving and sitting will be required in these instances
- Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed
- The noise level in the work environment for this position may be moderate to loud
- As needed work is outdoors so employees in this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but are not limited to extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet, and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog
- Work is performed both inside and outside in all weather conditions. The candidate must be able to lift and manipulate materials and equipment up to 80 pounds. Be able to work standing, at shoulder height and overhead, for extended periods.

Salary Range $50,000 – $60,000 per year
